Every class will be different choreography, giving a new experience for each class.

DDH Dance Academy Classes & Programs

All class level placements are made to take into consideration the best interests of each student. Class placement is based on skill level, coordination, strength, understanding of technique, musicality, attitude, desire, concentration, attendance and maturity. Dance is a cumulative learning process and everyone progresses at a different rate. Technique comes easier to some than others. Improvement in dance technique varies with each individual, as does physical growth. No student will be placed by the number of years he or she has studied, but only by what he or she has accomplished in that period of time. Also, at DDH, we make sure that every dancer is treated equally. So students will not be evaluated by the amount of classes registered, for example, or by any means of favoritism.

Dance Classes Are NOT Graded Like School

Within each level, students will be evaluated and placed in a class with other students who have achieved the same level of technique and accomplishment. It is not uncommon for varied ages to be placed together. Students do NOT move up every year as they would in school. If you are placed in the same class title you have been in for several years, it is most likely that it reflects the rising standard of the class. Our teachers adjust the class curriculum to suit the advancing education needs of the students placed in that class, as we do not have an unlimited amount of class titles to allow a change every year.
